Armed Robbery on the Northside

Armed robbery where a man with a 9mm Glock handgun and a woman with a stun gun robbed a man for minimal gain if you read the article. Per the NY Times 2010 census maps, the location, East 46th St near the Pennsylvania intersection, is at the nexus of multiple census tracts. The tracts are...

tract 3222 - 56% white, 38% black, 2% hispanic, 1% asian, 2% other - Total pop -12% since 2000
tract 3223 - 77% white, 16% black, 3% hispanic, 1% asian, 3% other - Total pop -8% since 2000
tract 3219 - 84% white, 11% black, 2% hispanic, 2% asian, 2% other - Total pop +10% since 2000

Observation: looks to be an area that went through gentrification as the white population rose as the black population dropped. Looking at other tracts near the location, gentrification was pretty strong between 2000 and 2010.

Comical Media move: They describe the wardrobe and weapons of the attackers but not a single physical description besides 'clean cut man'. How does the reporter know the details of the criminals but not the basics about what they look like.
